Workshop: PETA-phys & PETAL+

Institute of Mathmatics, Bordeaux

As part of the Cluster of Excellence LAPHIA (IdEx Bordeaux ), the holders of PETAPHYS collaborative project and Equipex PETAL are holding a workshop on February 24, 2015 at the IMB conference room (Bat A33) from 9am. This is an opportunity for all to catch up with recent progress of research and to enrich the scientific debate.

A 1-day HiPER workshop will be held within the SPIE Lasers  and Optoelectronics Conference

Taking place in Prague

Topics to be discussed include LMJ-PETAL facility access, ignition physics results and simulations, advanced ignition schemes, progress with diode pumped solid state laser drivers (DPSSLs), materials for fusion energy, fuel capsule mass production and the roadmap to inertial fusion energy.

Taking place in Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre for Scientific Culture in Erice, Italy

Preliminary program: Basic intense laser-plasma physics (LPP) - Warm Dense Matter - Introduction to intense Laser technology - Novel schemes of ICF - Atomic physics in strong laser fields - Laboratory astrophysics - Conventional inertial fusion (ICF) - Laser-driven radiation sources - Laser-driven electron acceleration - Diagnostics and materials for LPP - Laser-driven ion acceleration - Recent advances in magnetic fusion.

Fee: 1000 €. Reimbursement for full or half fee available & assigned after selection
